The Old Man and The Food Court (revision)
This is the real story about an old man whom I always see every day. He lives alone in Sekaran, in his small food court which always looks so empty. I have never known about him or even his place before, and I feel so guilty because I didn’t know about him earlier. If I knew him at the first time I came into Sekaran, maybe I could do something better for him. Maybe I could help him by being his loyal customer longer than what I have done now. He looks so wise and he never does nothing although there is no customer in his place. He never just sleeps or sits down and looks around when he is waiting for the customer. When the first time I came into his place, he gave me a nice smile and told me some of his funny jokes. I enjoyed his place. Until now, I still enjoy his place. His cooking is great, I think. I have tried to find the reason why his place is always empty. I tried to compare his place with the other food court in his surrounding. Then, I failed. Until now, I have not found a shortage of his cooking. I have not found a shortage of his place condition which maybe will make the customer uncomfortable. But seeing him every day in his miserable condition, I cannot stay in my silence and do nothing. I wish I could do something to help him. But what can I do? The only thing I can do is just coming into his place and being his loyal customer. I hope I am not his only customer. And it is not enough, I wish I could do something more. Looking at him, I remember my father. I miss my father when I see him. I realize how he struggles to give the best life for me and my mother. I do miss my family when I see him alone. I wish he could have a better life. I wish.
